The Origin of the Eye

The phenomenon to be explained in this case is the existence of extremely complex biological organs composed of parts, or structures, well adapted to perform specific functions. The eye is a classic example of such an organ. Below is a diagram illustrating the various structures that work together to accomplish the task of sensing light, or seeing.

Provide a detailed explanation of how Lamarck, Paley, and Darwin would account for these phenomena. (Put yourself in their place.) Use your knowledge of both their mechanisms and the prior knowledge and beliefs on which they are based to formulate your answer.
