Application of the EMS Model
After students have constructed their EMS model, they are ready to apply it to explain new data or scenarios such as those represented within the Challenge Problems in the third section of the course. Successful completion of the Challenge Problems requires students to engage in both cause to effect (model use) and effect to cause (model revision or model building) reasoning in a novel context.
