Learning with Understanding Poster

This poster is the result of a combined effort of Center researchers to produce a dynamic portrait of the importance of teaching for understanding in mathematics and science. The text is based on research by Center staff. The poster was designed by Kristen Roderick and Linda Endlich in the Instructional Media Development Center of the School of Education. The text on the poster reads:

Understanding for Life: We will meet the future head-on if we all learn with understanding

• linking ideas to one another in a rich, intricate web,
• applying what we learn to answer questions,
• reflecting on knowledge,

and expressing ideas in creative ways. With understanding, learning becomes personal. It lasts a lifetime.
